About DontDropBook

DontDropBook is an independent tool that keeps traveling IBEW electricians from being dropped off an out-of-work list because they missed a re-sign window.

What it does

If you are signed on books at more than one local, you are tracking more than one set of rules. One hall wants a fax during a specific week. Another takes a phone call. A third still wants you to walk through the door in person. The windows do not line up, the methods do not match, and nothing tells you which deadline is closest.

DontDropBook holds all of that in one place. You tell it every local you are signed with, when you signed, and how that hall wants the re-sign done. It watches the calendar and texts you before your window opens, then again if you are about to miss it. That is the entire job.

What it does not do

It does not sign anything on your behalf. It does not contact your hall. It does not touch your dispatch position, your book number, or your standing with any local. It is a reminder system built around a dataset of how each local actually handles re-signs — nothing more, and deliberately so.

Who runs it

DontDropBook is an independent project, not a company owned by or working with any union. It started with one person driving across the country to sign books at halls he had never dealt with, and finding out what each one required only after the trip was already made. Nobody warns you that "re-sign the book" means something different at every local, or that missing a one-week window can mean starting over from the bottom.

The project operates online and serves IBEW travelers across the United States. There is no office to visit and no sales team to get past. Questions, corrections, and complaints all go to the same inbox: hello@dontdropbook.com.

Accuracy is the product

A reminder tool that gives you the wrong date is worse than no tool at all. Re-sign procedures change without announcement, and some of them live in a PDF from 2019 or on an answering machine. So every local in our dataset carries a last-verified date, and any traveler can flag a change.

If we ever get your window wrong, tell us and we will correct it the same day. That commitment is the reason this project exists rather than a feature attached to it.

Independence

DontDropBook is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) or any of its local unions. Local names and requirements referenced anywhere on this site are informational. Always confirm your book status, re-sign windows, and requirements directly with your local hall.

Current status

The tool is in early access and free while it is being built. There are no ads, no sold data, and no sales calls. If and when there is a paid tier, tracking a single local will stay free.
